Literature Text

The flower
that once grew into the world
of winter and of darkness
is now wilting.

The strength in those roots
once full of life's liquid
now wither and begin to
die.

Occasional droplets feeding
those thirsty strings,
but never quite quenching the need
for just a bit more.

Maybe this rose
never meant hope
when all was
lost.

Maybe it was never happiness
in a time of dreadful
despair.

Maybe
this desperate poet
thought too long
and too hard
about things that did not
make any sense.

Maybe that flower was never meant to survive
Maybe it was meant to die.
I wrote this when I was really sad a couple of days ago.

No, I do not feel the same still. :)

I would love feedback though. :nuu:

Love the melancholy way the poem was written! I can really feel your emotions for the flower.
